anb design has grown through years of involvement in the architecture and construction industry. In my early teens I began drafting for my father and I assisted my uncle, sculptor Peter Gelencser, in the construction of the Gelencser - Iwanoff project in Cottesloe.
These early experiences informed my architectural sensibilities hence my love of modernism and my desire to express its ethos in new projects as well as acknowledge its importance in projects from the past. This later was reinforced for me when I was engaged to renovate and revive the Gelencser - Iwanoff house in Cottesloe in 2019/2020.
Over my forty years in the industry I have designed and built projects, small and large, for private clients, builders, other designers and developers. I am fortunate to have established strong relationships with a number of clients who, over the years, have entrusted me with bringing their projects to fruition.
My design ethos is characterised by purity of form and honesty of material. Clients come to me now because they know they will engage with someone who will give them honesty, and who will listen to their wishes and be able to translate them into original design.
